The birth anniversary of the great Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate, Sir C. V. Raman was celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School on 7th November 2025. The event aimed to honour the remarkable contributions of Sir C. V. Raman in the field of science, especially his groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
The program commenced with the floral tribute to the portrait of the great scientist. The Respected Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, along with the teachers and students, garlanded the portrait of C. V. Raman, paying homage to his invaluable contributions to science and humanity. The atmosphere was filled with inspiration as everyone reflected on the life and achievements of this legendary personality who brought global recognition to Indian science.
Following the tribute, Mr. Amit Nayak, the science teacher, shared a brief yet insightful life history of Sir C. V. Raman. He highlighted Raman’s early life, his deep curiosity towards light and sound, his academic excellence, and his immense dedication to research that led to the discovery of the Raman Effect.
To make the session more engaging and educational, Mr. Amit Nayak conducted a live demonstration of the Raman Spectroscopy experiment, explaining the concept in a simple and interesting way for the students to understand how light scattering works. The practical demonstration helped students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world scientific applications.
The celebration served as a source of great inspiration, encouraging students to develop curiosity, scientific temper, and a passion for discovery. The program concluded with a vote of thanks to the principal and teachers for their guidance and support in organizing such a meaningful and educational event.
🌟 The day truly reminded everyone of the power of curiosity, observation, and perseverance — the very principles that guided Sir C. V. Raman throughout his life.
