World Environment Day Celebration – A Step Towards a Greener Future
World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and awareness at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School under the guidance and supervision of our respected Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik. The day aimed to instil the value of environmental preservation and promote sustainable practices among students and staff.
To mark the occasion, students of Class 9 and Class 10 took the initiative to plant saplings in the school premises. The activity was a hands-on contribution to greener surroundings, helping students realize their role in protecting the Earth. Teachers, too, joined in by planting saplings, setting an inspiring example of environmental responsibility.
In addition to the plantation drive, various competitions were conducted to engage students creatively and intellectually:

Technology vs Nature: Can We Balance Both?
The participants passionately expressed their views, highlighting the urgent need to strike a balance between development and environmental conservation. The speeches reflected awareness, concern, and innovative ideas to protect nature amidst rapid urban growth.

2. Poster Making Competition
Theme: Our Land, Our Future
Students used art as a medium to express their vision for a sustainable world. The posters showcased a variety of themes, including reforestation, soil conservation, pollution control, and harmony with nature. Vibrant colours and thought-provoking messages filled the walls with environmental consciousness.

3. Letter Writing Competition
Topic: Letter to the Future
Students penned heartfelt and imaginative letters addressing future generations. These letters expressed hopes for a greener Earth and urged future citizens to protect the environment. Many writings also reflected regrets for today’s environmental neglect, urging accountability and action.
The celebration created a vibrant and thoughtful atmosphere throughout the school. Every student participated with great enthusiasm and active involvement, making the day truly meaningful. The combined efforts of students and staff highlighted the school’s commitment to creating eco-conscious citizens and spreading awareness about the importance of environmental protection.
