Dr. Kasturirangan And Swaminarayan Gurukul: A Tribute

India has lost one of its finest visionaries today — Padma Vibhusan Dr. K. Kasturirangan, a man whose intellect shaped the nation’s future and whose heart stayed rooted in values. Renowned for his contributions as the architect of the New Education Policy (NEP), Dr. Kasturirangan was not only a scientist, Former Chairman of ISRO and policymaker of the highest order, but also a spiritual soul who remained deeply connected with value-based education.

Dr. Kasturirangan played a pivotal role in designing the NEP, ensuring that modern education was interwoven with Indian values, culture, and ethics. His vision of education resonated deeply with the philosophy of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Organization.

His connection with Gurukul began in 2015 when he, along with his son, first got connected with Sadguru Mahant Swami Shri Devprasaddasji Swami and saints in the United States. Since then, a warm bond developed between his family and the Gurukul. He continues to remain closely connected with Pujya Bade Swamiji and the Gurukul mission.

On 29th November 2023, Pujya Satsangpriyadasji Swamiji and saints from the Swaminarayan Gurukul Organization had the privilege of visiting Dr. Kasturirangan at his residence. What followed was a deep and enriching conversation about education, spirituality, and the integration of NEP within Swaminarayan Gurukul’s value-based education framework. Dr. Kasturirangan not only appreciated the efforts of Gurukul but also provided valuable guidance, shared key resources, and connected the saints directly with his office for smoother NEP implementation.

His genuine interest, personal involvement, and encouragement gave a strong momentum to the Gurukul’s efforts toward holistic education.

Saints from Gurukul Bangalore has conducted prayers, gave sacred tirtha jal to Shri. Kasturiranganji and prayed Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan recently during days his health was critical.

Today, as we bid farewell to this great soul, we offer our heartfelt tribute. May his life’s mission continue to inspire us. May his soul find eternal peace at the feet of the Almighty. The Swaminarayan Gurukul family bows down in gratitude and reverence to this extraordinary guide and well-wisher.
