With the true spirit of patriotism and nationalism, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025, commemorating the valiant soldiers who laid down their lives for our motherland during the Kargil War.
The program began with a solemn garlanding ceremony to honour the martyrs – the brave sons of Bharat Mata. The garlanding was carried out by the Principal and senior staff members as a mark of respect. The atmosphere turned emotional and reverent as the entire assembly stood together for a 1-minute silent prayer, remembering the sacrifices of our brave jawans and offering heartfelt gratitude.
Following the tribute, Ms. Susama Pradhan delivered a thought-provoking and passionate speech. She spoke about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the unwavering spirit of our armed forces, and the values of courage, discipline, and sacrifice. She reminded the students that the freedom and peace we enjoy today are a result of the supreme bravery shown by our soldiers, and it is our duty to live with purpose and pride as responsible citizens.
The highlight of the event was an impactful mime act presented by the talented students of Class 7 under the creative guidance of Mr. Pradyumna Sharaf. The performance beautifully depicted the life of a soldier—from bidding farewell to his family to fighting bravely in the battlefield and attaining martyrdom. Without uttering a single word, the mime conveyed deep emotions and left a lasting impression on the audience, earning loud applause and heartfelt appreciation.
To conclude the event, the Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, delivered an inspiring and motivational speech. He shared the significance of honouring our national heroes and instilling a deep sense of patriotism among students. He encouraged every student to be brave, loyal, and dedicated to the nation in their own way—whether through academics, character, or service. He emphasized that the best tribute we can offer to our martyrs is by becoming honest, educated, and value-driven citizens of India.
The program concluded with the entire gathering rising for the National Anthem, sung with immense pride and unity. The day served as a moving reminder of our collective duty to honour and remember our brave soldiers—not just on Kargil Vijay Diwas, but every day.
The celebration stirred a deep sense of respect, gratitude, and patriotic pride among all present. It was indeed a meaningful and emotional tribute to our nation’s true heroes.
