Today, 6th November 2026, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Mysore, witnessed a Deepawali celebration that will be remembered as a historic milestone – not just for the school, but for Mysuru and Karnataka.
In a breathtaking display of devotion, creativity and teamwork, the campus illuminated with 2,123 Diyas, showcasing a beautiful blend of culture, heritage, devotion and future vision.🪔 1. Grand Lamp Lighting with 2,123 Diyas
The evening began with the grand lighting of 2,123 diyas by Swamijis, management, staff and students.
✨ Every flame symbolised knowledge overcoming ignorance, goodness triumphing over negativity, and unity illuminating the path of Gurukul.🐘 2. Tribute to Arjuna – The Majestic Elephant of Mysuru Dasara
The centrepiece of the celebration was a magnificent 24 Feet × 32 Feet Tribute to Arjuna, the beloved majestic elephant of Mysuru Dasara, created entirely with diyas.
🌟 A remarkable tribute celebrating the pride, heritage and cultural identity of Mysuru.
This unique creation was presented as a first-of-its-kind initiative at a school, bringing together artistic creativity, devotion and teamwork.🗺️ 3. Karnataka Map – Created Entirely with Diyas
Adding to the splendour, a beautiful Map of Karnataka was also created entirely using diyas.
Along with Arjuna carrying the Ambari and the GI symbol, the entire concept beautifully represented:
