Published On: August 22, 2026

The Social Science Week Celebration at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, NTPC Lara, held on August 21st, 2026, was a magnificent and memorable mega-event that ignited the spirit of inquiry and heritage among students from Classes 1 to 10. The festivities were inaugurated with a powerful and insightful “Mock Parliament Live” by Class 8 students, who replicated a live parliamentary session with remarkable questioning and counters, showcasing their leadership and public speaking prowess to a captivated auditorium audience. Building on this enthusiasm, the week unfolded as a vibrant tapestry of learning. Our youngest learners, Class 1, provided innovative descriptions of festivals, while Class 2 students showcased their creativity with India map decoration. Classes 3 and 4 focused on our nation’s geography and culture, with a “Diversity in India – Clothes & Food” showcase and a comprehensive map competition to identify states and Union Territories.

The middle school and senior classes further deepened the academic rigor and creative engagement. Students in Classes 5 and 7 honed their expository skills through structured paragraph writing and essay writing on given Social Science themes. Creativity took tangible form with Class 6 students crafting intricate models of Indian heritage sites. The senior segment provided a platform for critical thinking and artistic expression; Class 9 students created impactful posters on relevant social issues, while Class 10 students tackled real-world problems in the “Policy Maker Challenge” by presenting innovative solutions. This SST week of knowledge, creativity, and discovery was meticulously guided by the visionary Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraj Naik, whose leadership, combined with the dedicated mentorship of Social Department Teachers, Mr. Pinku Charan and Mr. Basant Badhei, ensured a deeply enriching and successful celebration.
