(Now I narrate the special duties of Married women.) My followers-married women shall serve their husbands just like Gods, even if he is blind, ailing, poor or even impotent and shall never speak harsh words to him. (159)

अब सधवा स्त्रियों के विशेष धर्म कहते हैं-हमारे आश्रित जो सधवा स्त्रियाँ, वे अपना पति अन्ध हो, रोगी हो, दरिद्र हो, नपुंसक हो, तो भी उसकी ईश्वर के समान ही सेवा करें और उसके प्रति कटुवचन न बोलें ।।१५९।।

My women disciples shall not even unintentionally maintain any relation with persons who are handsome, young and virtuous. (160)

और वे सधवा स्त्रियाँ रुप-यौवन से युक्त तथा गुणवान ऐसे परपुरुष का प्रसंग सहज स्वभाव से भी न करें ।।१६०।।

Pativrata women shall not behave in a way, which allows other males to see their navel, thighs and breasts, nor shall they remain without wearing an upper garment (sari). They shall not see vulgar shows. They shall not keep contacts with immodest, shameless, lustful and immoral women. (161)

और पतिव्रता ऐसी जो सधवा स्त्रियाँ वे अपनी नाभि, जांघ और वक्ष:स्थल अन्य पुरुष को दिखाई दें ऐसे ढंग से न रहें और बिना उत्तरीय वस्त्र, खुले शरीर में न रहें तथा भांडलीला आदि देखने न जायें और निर्लज्ज, स्वैरिणी, कामिनी, और पुंश्चला (कुलटा) आदि स्त्रियों का संग न करें ।।१६१।।

When the husbands of chaste women have gone out to other state, they shall not put on ornaments or pretty clothes, nor shall they visit other’s house and they shall refrain from engaging in laughter and humorous talks. (162)

और वे सधवा स्त्रियाँ, जब अपना पति विदेश गया हो तब आभूषण धारण न करें तथा सुन्दर वस्त्र परिधान न करें और पराये घर बैठने न जायें तथा हास्य-विनोद आदिका त्याग करें ।।१६२।।

Now I narrate the special duties of widows. The widow devotees shall worship Bhagwan Shri Krishna as if He is their husband. They shall always remain under the authority of their father or son but shall never behave independently. (163)

अब विधवा स्त्रियों के विशेष धर्म कहते हैं-हमारे आश्रित जो विधवा स्त्रियाँ, वे पतिबुद्धि से श्रीकृष्ण भगवान की सेवा करें और अपने पिता-पुत्रादि सम्बन्धीजनों की आज्ञानुसार ही रहें; परन्तु स्वतन्त्रता से आचरण न करें(न बर्तें) ।।१६३।।

The widows shall never touch the males who are not their nearest relatives. The young widows shall never talk to young males except under unavoidable circumstances. (164)

और वे विधवा स्त्रियाँ, अपने निकट सम्बन्ध रहित पुरुषों का स्पर्श कदापि न करें और अपनी युवावस्था में बिना आवश्यक कार्य, समीप सम्बन्ध रहित युवान पुरुषों के साथ कदापि बातचीत न करें ।।१६४।।

The casual touch of a suckling (male) child is not a sin just like touching of an animal is not a sin. Similarly touching or talking with an old man in unavoidable circumstances is also not a sin. (165)

और दूधमुँहे बच्चे को छूने में तो जैसे पशु को छूने में दोष नहीं है ठीक उसी प्रकार दोष नहीं है तथा किसी आवश्यक कार्य के लिए किसी वृद्ध पुरुष का स्पर्श हो जाए तथा उसके साथ बोला जाय तो उसमें दोष नहीं है ।।१६५।।

The widows shall not receive education from males who are not their close relative. They shall emaciate their bodies thus control senses by frequently observing fasts and Vratas. (166)

और वे विधवा स्त्रियाँ, अपने समीप सम्बन्ध रहित पुरुष से कोई भी विद्या न सीखें और व्रत-उपवास आदि द्वारा बारबार अपनी देह का दमन करें ।।१६६।।

The widow disciples having money just sufficient for their life long subsistence only, shall not give it even for religious purpose. If they have any surplus, they may donate. (167)

और उन विधवा स्त्रियों के घर में यदि अपने जीवनपर्यन्त देह निर्वाह हो सके उतना ही धन हो तो वे उस धन का धर्म-कार्य के लिए भी दान न करें; अगर उससे अधिक हो तो दान करें ।।१६७।।

The widows shall take food once in a day and shall sleep on the floor. They shall never deliberately watch animals and others in sexual conjugation. (168)

और विधवा स्त्रियाँ एक बार ही भोजन करें तथा पृथ्वी पर ही शयन करें तथा मैथुनासक्त पशु पक्षी आदि जीव प्राणिमात्र को कदापि न देखें ।।१६८।।

The widows shall not wear a dress similar to that of married women or that of ascetic women. They shall never wear a dress contrary to the conventions and customs of the place, family and practice. (169)

और वे विधवा स्त्रियाँ सुहागिनी स्त्री के समान वेष धारण न करें तथा सन्यासिनी एवं वैरागिनी जैसा वेष धारण न करें और अपने देश, कुल और आचार के विरुद्ध ऐसा जो वेष भी कदापि धारण न करें ।।१६९।।

They shall neither keep company of women who do abortions nor touch them. They shall never indulge in talking or hearing the amorous stories of males. (170)

और गर्भपातिनी स्त्री का संग न करें और उसका स्पर्श भी न करें तथा पुरुष के शृंगार सम्बन्धी वार्ता कदापि न करें एवं न सुनें ।।१७०।।

The young widows shall not stay in a lonely place with young men, even if they are their close relatives except under exigencies. (171)

और युवावस्था में रही ऐसी जो विधवा स्त्रियाँ वे युवावस्थावाले जो अपने सम्बन्धी पुरुषों के साथ भी एकान्त में आपत्काल पडे बिना न रहें ।।१७१।।

The widows shall not participate in sports of Holi festival and shall not put on ornaments etc. They shall never wear fine garments woven with the golden threads. (172)

और होली न खेलें, आभूषणादि को धारण न करें तथा सुवर्णादि धातु के तारों से युक्त वस्त्रों को भी कदापि धारण न करें ।।१७२।।

No Women shall take bath without their clothes on. They shall never conceal their period of menstruation.(173)

सधवा तथा विधवा स्त्रियाँ, बिना वस्त्र, स्नान न करें और अपने रजस्वलापन को किसी भी प्रकार से गुप्त न रखें ।।१७३।।

During the period of menstruation, the women shall not touch any human being, clothes etc. for three days. On the fourth day after taking bath they can touch. These special duties which I have mentioned for the male and female householders should also be followed by the Acharyas and their wives (descendants of the family of Shri Dharmadev) as they are also householders. (174)

और रजस्वला ऐसी सधवा तथा विधवा स्त्रियाँ, तीन दिन तक किसी मनुष्य का या वस्त्रादि का स्पर्श न करें। चौथे दिन स्नान करके ही स्पर्श करें। (इस प्रकार गृहस्थाश्रमी पुरुष तथा स्त्रियों के जो विशेष धर्म कहे गये, उनका सभी धर्मवंशी आचार्य तथा उनकी पत्नियाँ भी पालन करें क्योंकि वे भी गृहस्थ हैं) ।।१७४।।

सधवा तथा विधवा स्त्रियाँ, बिना वस्त्र, स्नान न करें और अपने रजस्वलापन को किसी भी प्रकार से गुप्त न रखें ।।१७३।।

During the period of menstruation, the women shall not touch any human being, clothes etc. for three days. On the fourth day after taking bath they can touch. These special duties which I have mentioned for the male and female householders should also be followed by the Acharyas and their wives (descendants of the family of Shri Dharmadev) as they are also householders. (174)

और रजस्वला ऐसी सधवा तथा विधवा स्त्रियाँ, तीन दिन तक किसी मनुष्य का या वस्त्रादि का स्पर्श न करें। चौथे दिन स्नान करके ही स्पर्श करें। (इस प्रकार गृहस्थाश्रमी पुरुष तथा स्त्रियों के जो विशेष धर्म कहे गये, उनका सभी धर्मवंशी आचार्य तथा उनकी पत्नियाँ भी पालन करें क्योंकि वे भी गृहस्थ हैं) ।।१७४।।
